Do you recall that day? It was a day we as Americans should all be ashamed of. I say that with great sorrow since I am an unabashed Trumpster. When he ran back in 2016 I was most impressed by his “Clear the Swamp” slogan. I was excited that someone was aware of the state of our political system and promised to do something about it. And he did. Our country was the best it has ever been.
Then came the 2020 fiasco. I’m not one to harp incessantly about the outright thievery at the polls, but neither will I stay silent. The leftists figured it out. Convince a handful of well-placed high-level politicos to skirt a couple of their state laws, add a few million mail-in votes of doubtful validity, and bingo, you have enough to secure the delegate count.
But I’m not going to go further with that. What I want to bring out is that this set the stage for the eventual disruption that occurred in DC on that fateful day. The mob of people that stormed the Capitol believed the election was stolen, and I believe it likely was. But what they did was unlawful and criminal. It was certainly mob behavior. Unfortunately, it gave the left-leaning politicians and the mainstream media enough ammunition to squelch all future investigations into the election itself and what really happened.
What concerns me right now is the upcoming 2022 elections and whether the left has enough tricks up its sleeves to maintain the House and maybe gain a Senate majority? The Biden Administration is a disaster, that’s for sure, but we are at the mercy of unscrupulous adversaries. What troubles me is seeing the current administration as such a complete failure the right-wing voter may become over-confident and stay home on election day and that the election overseers don’t remain vigilant.
