I didn’t Ask for This…Did You?
Back in December 2020, I questioned the possibility of “The End of Our
Experimental Government?” Is it time to admit that the experiment has
failed miserably? This country was founded on the idea that individual rights
could, and should be the dominating framework of governing. The founding
fathers were well aware of the frailty of human understanding and the large
percentage of the populace instinctively believed in the divine right of the ruling
class. At that time this part of the world was known as “The Colonies,”
ruled by England.
The people of the colonies were split into three approximately evenly
divided groups: those that were fed up with English rule, those who were quite
happy to have the stability of such rule, and those who didn’t give a hoot, one
way or the other. This was an untenable situation and eventually, the colonies
broke with England with “The Declaration of Independence” and
proclaimed itself as an independent country with “The Articles of
Confederation”, and The United States of America was born. It didn’t take
long for the leaders of this fledgling country to realize they needed
a stronger, more formal structure for their government.
The founding fathers believed in a higher standard of government where the
people determined their own destiny. They contrived a government where the
rights of the citizens, the rights of the states, and the laws that governed
the entire country were put forth in a document that became known as The
Constitution of the United States of America. This was a remarkable concept.
Previously, it was generally accepted that countries had but two classes of
citizens: the ruling class and the ruled peoples. Things would be different
from now on. Or would they?
As we watch the news from day to day we are witness to deterioration in the
way things progressed from the last century until today. Look at what is
happening at our borders. Look at how we are perceived by other countries. Look
at our soaring prices. Look at … etc.
I don’t know about you, but I didn’t ask for this. I didn’t vote for this,
and if you did, I’m sure you didn’t ask for this either. In any case, let’s all
learn from what has happened. Elections have consequences. If you continue to vote
democratic, you can expect more of the same. I know what you’ve said in the
past, “Yes the Democrats are bad, but the Republicans are worse.”
Really? Those I’ve talked to that continue to assert this general statement
have never, ever backed this up with anything factual. The Never-Trumpers
are even worse. They simply hate with no real reason, after all, I never spoke
with one who has met him personally.
So, remember this: if you ever vote for any democrat, at any level of government,
expect the worse, because that’s what you’ll get. If you think I must believe
there is a good democrat here and there, what I’ve actually observed is that
Democrats vote in lock-step, and I’m convinced that essentially says it all.
